EclipseME Support

EclipseME is supported by its developer community, as are most Open Source projects. If you have a question, would like to report a bug, make a suggestion, etc., we will do our best to help.

Asking Questions

If you have a question, the best way to get an answer is to post it on the user's mailing list supported by SourceForge.net. The EclipseME development team, along with many of its users, monitor the list, and will do their best to answer your question.

In particular, if EclipseME is doing something unexpected, please follow the troubleshooting steps before posting your question. The information you collect can be vital for us to help you. If you skip this step, the first response you may get from us is to point you back to the troubleshooting steps, so you can save yourself some time by doing this up front.

Request an Enhancement

If you have an idea how to improve EclipseME, please feel free to submit a Request For Enhancement here. We're always looking for good ideas for the next EclipseME feature. If you look back through the history of EclipseME, the majority of the enhancements were ones proposed by the user community.

If you are more comfortable using the user's mailing list to discuss possible enhancements before formally submitting the request, that's fine. We use the SourceForge RFE list as our central repository of "what's left to work on," however, so if it doesn't end up there eventually, it probably won't get done.

Reporting a Bug

We wish that our code was perfect, but, alas, we are only human.

If you have discovered something you think is a bug in EclipseME, by all means report it here. As mentioned above, please follow the troubleshooting steps and include the results in your bug report. This will greatly speed the process of figuring out what's going on.




We promise to respond to questions, enhancement requests and bug reports as quickly as we can. Please remember, however, that EclipseME is our hobby, not our "day job," and we have spouses, families, etc. as well. Thus, we ask your patience if it takes a few days, as opposed to a few hours, for us to respond.
